Pakistan, Romania Enhance Cooperation to Tackle Aerial Challenges

BUCHAREST: Pakistan and Romania have agreed to establish comprehensive institutional frameworks aimed at enhancing cooperation in aerial defence and advanced aerospace technologies.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and Chief of the Romanian Air Force Staff, Lieutenant General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi, held at the Romanian Air Force Headquarters.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed avenues to strengthen operational collaboration, including joint air exercises, exchange programs, and specialized training for air and ground crews.

The two dignitaries also exchanged views on regional security dynamics and underscored the importance of bilateral cooperation in maintaining regional and global stability.

The Air Chiefs further explored opportunities for expanding Air Force-to-Air Force engagements and promoting defence-industrial partnerships focused on innovation and advancement in aerospace capabilities.

Lieutenant General Baraboi lauded the professional excellence and operational achievements of the Pakistan Air Force, particularly its demonstrated capability and strategic effectiveness in recent years. He also commended the PAF’s transformation under the visionary leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

Upon arrival, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Romanian Air Force.

The visit marks a significant milestone in Pakistan–Romania military relations, reaffirming both nations’ shared commitment to peace, development, and strategic cooperation in an evolving global security landscape.
