The agreement was signed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
Ishaq Dar confirmed the development in a post on social media, saying he was pleased to sign the visa-waiver agreement with his Saudi counterpart for holders of diplomatic, official and special passports.
The deputy prime minister said the agreement would make high-level contacts and institutional exchanges between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia easier.
He added that the removal of visa requirements would further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries across various areas of mutual interest.
Under the agreement, the visa waiver will apply specifically to Pakistani and Saudi citizens holding diplomatic, official and special passports. It will not extend to ordinary passport holders.
