Pakistan, Saudi Arabia to jointly produce films, songs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to form a committee for joint production of films, documentaries as well as songs.

The two sides here have agreed to form a joint committee for this purpose.

The decision was made at a meeting between Minister for Information Atta Tarar and Saudi Minister of Media Salman bin Yusuf al-Dusairi in Riyadh, days a press release issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Islamabad.

Mr Tarar congratulated his Saudi counterpart for organizing the fourth edition of the Saudi Media Forum.

It was agreed to form a joint committee for the production of songs, films and documentaries by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The two countries also agreed to enhance cooperation in various fields including exchange of journalists and training programmes.

They stressed the importance of working together to combat disinformation and propaganda. They said close cooperation between the two countries will help promote peace and stability in the region, adding that they are committed to strengthening relations in various fields, including supporting the Saudi Vision 2030.

Mr Tarar said that there was a golden opportunity for digital investment and technical cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Minister said that the next meeting of the Saudi Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council will be held in Pakistan. He said a large number of Pakistanis were playing an important role in the development of Saudi Arabia and all sectors.
