ADELAIDE: Pakistan Shaheens produced a dominant performance in the fifth match of the Top End T20 Series, thrashing Adelaide Strikers by 107 runs, thanks to a dazzling century from opener Muaz Sadaqat.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Shaheens piled up 202 for 6 in 20 overs. The foundation was laid by openers Muaz Sadaqat and Yasir Khan, who shared a brilliant 149-run stand. Sadaqat stole the show with a sparkling 104 off 59 balls, laced with 11 fours and 2 sixes, while Yasir Khan struck a fluent 51 with five boundaries and a six. Abdul Samad chipped in with 25 runs to keep the momentum going.
The Strikers’ Harry Manenti briefly turned the tide by removing Abdul Samad, Muhammad Faiq, and Shahid Aziz in quick succession, finishing with 3 for 31, but the Shaheens’ total proved far beyond reach.
In reply, Adelaide Strikers were bundled out for 95 in 16.1 overs. Mackenzie Harvey top-scored with 27, while the rest of the batting order faltered. Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Mubasir Khan (3/19) leading the charge, supported by Mehran Mumtaz and Faisal Akram, who claimed two wickets apiece.
With this emphatic victory, Pakistan Shaheens have taken full momentum into their next clash, scheduled for Friday against Nepal.
