KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a sharp decline, with the benchmark 100-Index dropping 964 points to close at 161,573.

This follows a strong performance the previous day, when 78.32 million shares were traded, totaling 36 billion rupees.

In the currency market, the US dollar fell slightly, losing one paisa to reach Rs.280.80 in the interbank market.

Analysts attribute the stock market downturn to a mix of domestic economic concerns and global market volatility. Investors are advised to monitor market trends closely as trading sentiment remains cautious.
