ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, calling them a blatant violation of international law and Lebanese sovereignty.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan expressed deep concern over the air raids carried out by Israeli warplanes on the night of Eid al-Adha, targeting southern Beirut and various areas in southern Lebanon. The Foreign Office said the attacks are a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024.

“The indiscriminate use of force poses a serious threat to civilian lives and undermines regional stability,” the statement added.

Pakistan reaffirmed its full solidarity with the government and people of Lebanon during this difficult time and urged the international community, including the United Nations and mediating countries, to take immediate notice of the Israeli aggression.

The Foreign Office called for urgent steps to prevent further escalation and to hold the occupying forces accountable for their actions.

It is worth noting that Israeli airstrikes overnight caused widespread destruction in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and other areas, damaging several buildings and injuring many civilians.
