Speaking at the weekly media briefing, Andrabi said the Field Marshal’s recent visit to Iran was part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and reduce tensions in the region.
He described the visit as a reflection of Pakistan’s serious efforts to contribute to de-escalation and regional stability.
The spokesperson also said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye had agreed to further expand their defence cooperation under their joint framework.
A joint secretariat will be established in Saudi Arabia and will be headed initially by a secretary-general from Pakistan for a three-year term, he said.
The three countries will also enhance cooperation in defence industries, joint technology development and defence production, according to the spokesperson.
The announcement comes as Pakistan continues to strengthen its diplomatic and strategic engagement with regional partners while preparing to host the next SCO summit.
