Speaking to a private news channel, Wani said the Chinese hockey team would visit Pakistan in November 2026 following South Korea’s tour, while the Canadian team would also travel to Pakistan after China. He added that three European teams were also ready to visit the country.
According to the PHF president, the arrival of foreign teams would help boost hockey activities and contribute to the revival of the sport in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan was also planning to host a 10-nation international hockey event in December next year, while preparations were underway for the launch of a domestic hockey league.
Regarding the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, Wani said the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) had the authority to shift the tournament from India to a neutral venue.
Pakistan has already requested the AHF to relocate the event to a neutral venue, but no decision has been announced so far.
Wani said the PHF was aware of the relevant rules and regulations and had already made its position clear on the matter. He added that Pakistan’s national dignity and interests remained the federation’s priority in international hockey affairs.
