RAWALPINDI: Pakistan completed a dominant 3-0 series whitewash against Sri Lanka with a comprehensive win in the final One-Day International (ODI) at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
In the final match, Sri Lanka batted first and managed to post 211 runs in 46 overs. Pakistan’s bowlers once again delivered a clinical performance with Mohammad Wasim Jr. taking 3 wickets, while Harish Rauf and Faisal Akram picked up 2 wickets each to reduce Sri Lanka to a modest total. Sadira Samaraweera (48), Kusal Mendis (34), and Pawan Rathnayake (32) were the top contributors for Sri Lanka.
Chasing the target of 212, Pakistan achieved it comfortably, finishing the game with 6 wickets in hand. The team’s chase was led by strong performances from the middle order, ensuring a smooth finish.
Pakistan made four changes to their lineup for this match, including the inclusion of Shaheen Afridi, Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, and Hasibullah. Sri Lanka, led by Kusal Mendis in the absence of the ill Charith Asalanka, couldn’t break through Pakistan’s strong batting lineup.
