Pakistan Emerges as Respected Nation for its Peace Role: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday said Pakistan has emerged as a responsible and respected nation on the global stage, emphasizing that the country will firmly defend its sovereignty against any hostile designs.

Speaking to the media, Dar said Pakistan has gained international recognition for its constructive role in promoting regional peace and diplomacy. He noted that the country is now widely viewed as a “peacemaker” due to its efforts in facilitating dialogue and reducing tensions in the region.

“Pakistan has earned respect and prestige internationally, and the entire nation is grateful for this achievement,” he said. “Today, Pakistan is recognized across the world as a responsible nuclear power.”

The deputy prime minister praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their efforts toward regional stability, saying their leadership contributed significantly to peace initiatives and diplomatic engagement.

Referring to Pakistan’s role in recent international mediation efforts, Dar said the country had worked tirelessly for peace and ceasefire initiatives from February through June. He added that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts had helped bring opposing sides to the negotiating table and strengthened its international standing.

Dar also highlighted Pakistan’s historical role in serving the Muslim world and safeguarding the interests of the wider Muslim community. He said the country possesses the capability and influence to play a leading role in addressing challenges facing the Islamic world.

Commenting on national security, the deputy prime minister said Pakistan remains fully capable of protecting its interests and responding to any threats. “Those who cast an evil eye on Pakistan will be dealt with decisively,” he remarked.

He further stated that past policy mistakes had negatively affected economic growth, but the government is now focused on restoring economic stability and strengthening Pakistan’s financial position.

According to Dar, Pakistan was among the first countries to condemn attacks on Iran and has consistently advocated dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful conflict resolution.

He said the country’s recent diplomatic initiatives have enhanced its image internationally and demonstrated its commitment to regional peace and cooperation.
