ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the unprovoked firing by Afghan forces on Pakistani border areas, describing it as a blatant violation of international laws and human rights.
He stated that the Pakistani forces responded effectively and promptly, sending a clear and unmistakable message that any act of provocation will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Naqvi emphasized that targeting civilian populations is not only unacceptable but also a direct contravention of international norms and humanitarian principles.
He highlighted that Pakistan, as a peaceful and responsible neighbor, has consistently followed a policy of patience, restraint, and diplomacy. However, he warned that any attack on national security or civilians would be met with a firm and decisive response.
“The brave Pakistani forces demonstrated their readiness and effectiveness by responding promptly and decisively. Afghanistan is being met with ‘an eye for an eye,’ and any aggressive actions are being countered with full force.
The patterns behind Afghanistan’s actions indicate coordination with our longstanding adversaries. Pakistan’s people stand united with their armed forces, like a solid and unyielding wall.
Afghanistan will receive a response as strong as India did, and it will not dare to cast a hostile or ill-intentioned glance toward Pakistan,” Naqvi added.
