Pakistani Cyber Force Defaces Indian TV Channel in Retaliation
ISLAMABAD: A group described as a Pakistani cyber force has claimed responsibility for hacking an Indian television channel, briefly broadcasting pro-Pakistan slogans and messages.
The Indian news channel ABP News was targeted in a retaliatory cyberattack after a similar attack on Geo TV yesterday. During the breach, slogans reading “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan) were displayed on screen.
The broadcast was also said to include excerpts from a speech attributed to Pakistan’s Field Marshal, General Syed Asim Munir. Screenshots circulating on social media purportedly showed altered programming content on the Indian channel.
There has been no immediate official confirmation from ABP News regarding the hacking at the time of reporting.
Cybersecurity analysts note that in times of heightened regional tensions, media organizations and public platforms can become targets of cyber activities aimed at symbolic messaging or psychological impact.
