NEW YORK: Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai reaffirmed commitment to strengthening collaboration with the City of New York during a summer gathering hosted by the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs.
The event was organized to bid farewell to outgoing Commissioner Edward Mermelstein and to welcome incoming Commissioner Aissata Camara.
Speaking at the occasion, Consul General Atozai praised Mermelstein’s leadership and contributions to global engagement and extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Commissioner Camara on her new role.
In his remarks, Mr. Atozai emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between the Consulate and the Mayor’s Office. He expressed confidence that the already strong partnership would continue to grow under Commissioner Camara’s leadership, particularly in areas such as trade, cultural exchange, and international collaboration.
The gathering brought together diplomats, city officials, and members of the international community, underscoring New York City’s role as a hub for global diplomacy and engagement.
Made in Pakistan Movement
Rizwan Jaffar, Founder and CEO of the Made in Pakistan Movement, met with the Consul General of Pakistan in New York on Friday to discuss expanding the international presence of Pakistani products.
The two sides agreed to host an exhibition at the Consulate in the coming months, where leading Pakistani businesses will showcase their products, build B2B connections, and explore opportunities in the U.S. market.
Mr. Jaffar highlighted the movement’s goal of promoting the quality and diversity of Pakistani goods and supporting national exports.
The Consul General welcomed the initiative and pledged the Consulate’s support, expressing hope that the event would attract interest from the American business community and help strengthen trade ties between Pakistan and the United States.
