LAHORE: Chairman of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has announced a ban on Pakistani kabaddi player Obaidullah Rajput for playing in India and waving the Indian flag during a recent international competition.
This decision was made following approval in the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation’s General Council meeting.
Hussain clarified that Obaidullah Rajput would have the right to appeal against the ban, and his case has been forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee for further review. The Disciplinary Committee will conduct a thorough examination of the matter and provide its recommendations.
The Chairman also emphasized that in the future, no player would be allowed to play abroad without an NOC (No Objection Certificate), and strict enforcement of this rule will be implemented. He added that in 2026, the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation would organize 13 national and international events to further enhance the quality of the sport and improve player preparation.
Hussain also highlighted ongoing efforts to promote women’s kabaddi and revealed that kabaddi teams from other Muslim countries, including Iran, would be invited to participate in indoor kabaddi tournaments.
