According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Faheem Akram allegedly operated a website called LabelsBank.com, which sold fraudulent U.S. postal shipping labels.
Authorities allege that the website offered shipping labels for as little as $2 per parcel, regardless of the package's actual weight or size.
More than 5,200 customers reportedly purchased over 5.1 million fraudulent shipping labels through the website. The alleged scheme resulted in losses of more than $126 million, according to the report.
A U.S. federal court reportedly took action on September 28, ordering the website to be shut down. Akram faces charges related to allegedly defrauding the United States, producing fraudulent postage and wire fraud.
The accused is currently believed to be in Pakistan and was indicted in absentia, meaning the charges were filed while he was not present before the U.S. court.
