DELAWARE: A Pakistani-origin American student has been arrested in the U.S. state of Delaware on charges of illegal weapons possession and allegedly planning an attack, according to reports from U.S. media.

The suspect, 25-year-old Luqman Khan, was taken into custody on the night of November 24 after police stopped a truck in the Canby Park West area. Authorities say Khan refused repeated commands to exit the vehicle and resisted arrest, prompting officers to detain him.

A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the recovery of a handgun, ammunition magazines, and documents outlining what investigators believe to be an attack plan.

The documents allegedly included a sketch of the University of Delaware Police Station, marked entry and exit points, and the name of a university police officer.

On November 25, the FBI executed a search warrant at Khan’s residence, where agents recovered additional advanced firearms.

Officials state that Khan is a U.S. citizen of Pakistani origin and a student at the University of Delaware. Investigators allege that he had been planning an attack targeting the university’s police department.

Khan has been formally charged with possession of an illegal machine gun and planning an attack. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 11. Authorities also confirmed that Khan has no prior criminal record.
