KABUL: Following last week’s border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, a high-level Pakistani technical delegation arrived in Kabul today.
According to diplomatic sources, the delegation comprises officials from the Ministry of Interior, relevant authorities, and a technical team.
The team will primarily review reforms in the visa system at the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul. Most of the delegation’s work will be conducted within the embassy, and meetings with Afghan Taliban officials are neither scheduled nor planned.
Sources emphasized that the visit had been planned prior to the recent escalation in Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions and is not related to the recent clashes, the temporary ceasefire, or any ongoing negotiations.
The delegation is expected to discuss improvements in online visa issuance and the biometric system.
