Pakistan’s diplomatic profile strengthened by SCO summit: PM

Congratulate heads of all political parties on successful conclusion of international event.

ISLAMABAD: The holding of the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad was indeed a major achievement for Pakistan in the diplomatic front.

This international event was organized in Islamabad after Pakistan became a member of SCO in 2017. In fact, such an international event with a gathering of seven prime ministers was first in Pakistan in 27 years.

A day after the conclusion of the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation and said, “Pakistan’s diplomatic profile further strengthened after successful hosting of this summit,” the prime minister said.

He also congratulated heads of all political parties on the successful conclusion of the SCO summit, adding all relevant institutes worked together as a team in making arrangements for the event.

He said the visit of the Chinese prime minister before the start of the summit also proved very successful.

Mr Shehbaz Sharif said that due to the government’s prudent policies, the country’s economy had stabilized and achieved the 2025 targets a year ahead of the deadline.

“You have all sacrificed your politics and worked hard, the results are economic stability and diplomatic successes,” the prime minister conveyed to the leaders of coalition parties in the Senate.

He said all political parties and the people had made sacrifices to help the country overcome difficulties.
