WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Mohammed Aurangzeb Khan has said that Pakistan’s economy was on the right track and this has been endorsed by different international rating agencies.
Speaking at press conference in Washington, the minister at that because of the prudent policies of the government of Pakistan, inflation rate was decreasing in the country and all the indicators were showing positive trends.
He also said that his meetings with different stakeholders in the US remained positive and they expressed their satisfaction over the decreasing inflation in Pakistan.
About taxation, he said that no one would be harassed over non-payment of taxes, adding more restrictions were in the offing for non-filers of tax returns. The minister said that we need legal cover to eliminate the term non-filer.
The minister also said that the World Bank would give grant not loan to Pakistan. We are making efforts and taking steps to ensure that the current arrangements with the International Monetary Fund would be the last one, he added.
