Pakistan’s Issue Is With Afghan Policies, Not Its People: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR)Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan’s concerns are linked to Afghanistan’s state policies, not its people.

Speaking informally to the media on Tuesday, the military spokesperson clarified that whenever Pakistan takes action against terrorists operating from Afghan soil, it openly acknowledges it. He stressed that Pakistan never targets civilians.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that Pakistan will go to any extent to protect its citizens and borders, adding that terrorists will be pursued until the very end. He reaffirmed that operations against militant groups will continue with full force.

He further stated that Pakistan will keep fulfilling its responsibilities for regional peace and stability, and that combating terrorism remains a top national security priority.

“It is not possible for attacks to be carried out against us while trade continues. There is no distinction among terrorists,” he added.
