Pakistan Wants End to US-Iran War for Regional Interests: Ambassador

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has said that Pakistan’s efforts to bring the US-Iran war to an end by bringing the two sides to the negotiating table is intended to serve the broader interests of the region.

In an interview with Fox News, Ambassador Sheikh stated that both the United States and Iran had expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s trusted role in facilitating dialogue.

He added that Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on peace and diplomacy.

He explained that Pakistan had offered to mediate negotiations in good faith, noting that diplomacy is a gradual process that requires time. While Pakistan is ready to provide all possible support to the parties, the ultimate decisions must be made by the US and Iran themselves.

Ambassador Sheikh said that Pakistan’s efforts aim to de-escalate tensions and promote regional stability, reflecting the country’s commitment to constructive diplomacy in international conflicts.
