Passports of attackers on ex-CJP will be cancelled: Naqvi

Interior Minister says attack on high commission's car carrying Qazi Faez Isa would be probed to punish culprits.

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday said that the attack on former chief justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa by a group of Pakistanis was condemnable and cannot be tolerated.

He said that NADRA will immediately identify the culprits for initiating legal action against them. He said the passports and CNICs of the attackers would be blocked. A case will also be submitted to the federal cabinet for the cancellation of the citizenship of the attackers, he added.

The interior minister said that there were threats that the former chief justice of Pakistan might be attacked during his visit to London. However, the high commission of Pakistan did not take proper security measures and this negligence should also be investigated.

The minister also said that police cases would be registered in Pakistan against the attackers. They attacked a car of the Pakistani high commission in London and we will take action against the culprits.
