LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a fine of Rs20 million on fast bowler Naseem Shah for violating the terms of his central contract and the board’s social media guidelines.

According to the PCB, a show-cause notice was issued to the player on March 27. The matter was subsequently reviewed by a three-member disciplinary committee, which took note of Naseem Shah’s unconditional apology.

After examining the evidence, the committee concluded that the cricketer had breached multiple clauses of his contract as well as social media regulations. As a result, the board decided to impose a significant financial penalty.

In a related development, Naseem Shah’s social media advisor has been dismissed. The PCB has also decided to blacklist the advisor, barring them from working with any players contracted by the board in the future.

The PCB reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards, discipline, and strict adherence to contractual obligations.

It is worth noting that Naseem Shah was recently signed by the Rawalpindi team for Rs86.5 million in PSL 11.
