Peace in region linked to resolution of Kashmir issue: Kakar

Says Pakistan wants to live in peace but this should not be construed as our weakness.

RISALPUR: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar here on Tuesday said there would be no peace in the region unless the issue of Kashmir was resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

He said the international community would have to fulfill its commitment to ensure the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir.

Addressing the passing-out parade at PAF Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur today, he said Pakistan always wants to live in peace with its neighbors but our desire for peace must not be understood as weakness.

“Pakistan is a peace loving country and desires to maintain friendly relations with all especially neighbouring countries.”

While congratulating the graduating cadets, the Prime Minister said that you carry the hopes of the nation.

He said Pakistan would not indulge in any arms race, but we would continue to enhance our capabilities in line with the evolving character of the warfare due to fast changes in technology to deter any aggression.

The caretaker prime minister on the occasion also called upon the international community to ensure immediate ceasefire in Gaza to stop the Israeli forces frim further bloodshed.
