A three-member bench of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday withdrew its election symbol from the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) under Article 215 Four of the Election Act.
The ECP in its decision said that the All Pakistan Muslim League failed to hold intra-party elections as per the election rules. The All Pakistan Muslim League did not even provide the list of party officials in the Election Commission.
After the completion of the intra-party election, the certificate signed by the party chief was to be submitted to the Election Commission.
The decision further said that no certified certificate has been submitted to the Election Commission by the head of All Pakistan Muslim League, hence disqualification of All Pakistan Muslim League-N for election symbol under Article (4) 215 of the Election Act.
