Peshawar Zalmi defeat Multan Sultans by 24 runs

KARACHI: In an exciting match of the Pakistan Super League Season 11, Peshawar Zalmi continued their unbeaten run by defeating Multan Sultans by 24 runs at the National Stadium Karachi.

After winning the toss, Multan Sultans chose to bowl first. Peshawar Zalmi posted a strong total of 196/6 in 20 overs. Mohammad Haris gave a rapid start with 38 runs off 17 balls, setting the tone early. Kusal Mendis played a brilliant innings, scoring 68 runs off 40 balls, marking his third consecutive half-century for Zalmi.

Other contributions came from Farhan Yusuf (30), captain Babar Azam (18), Michael Bracewell (14), and Iftikhar Ahmed (10). For Multan, Peter Siddle and Mohammad Ismail took two wickets each, while Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up one each.

Chasing 197, Multan Sultans started well but failed to maintain momentum. Sahibzada Farhan scored 17, while Steve Smith (31), Josh Philippe (32), and Shan Masood (35) contributed, but the team fell short of the target.

Zalmi’s bowling attack was led by Sufiyan Muqeem, who took 3 wickets in 4 overs and was named Player of the Match. Naveed Rana supported well with 2 wickets, while Iftikhar Ahmed also claimed 2 wickets.

With this win, Peshawar Zalmi remain unbeaten in the tournament, securing four victories while one match was washed out, placing them at the top of the points table, with Multan Sultans in second place.
