KP Govt Barred From Using Public Resources for Political Activities

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has prohibited the provincial government from utilizing public resources for political events such as rallies and million-man marches.

The court’s decision emphasized that the use of government assets for political purposes undermines public trust in the system.

In its ruling, the court remarked that the use of state resources for political gain is tantamount to corruption and abuse of power. The judiciary stressed that such actions not only compromise the integrity of the government but also erode the public’s confidence in the impartiality of state institutions.

“The misuse of government resources for political activities is not just unethical, but it amounts to a serious breach of public trust,” said the bench. “Political activities should be conducted independently of state funding to maintain transparency and fairness.”

This decision marks a significant step in ensuring that state resources are only used for public welfare and not for the benefit of political parties or their agendas. It also underscores the court’s commitment to upholding the principles of justice and accountability in Pakistan’s governance.
