The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Islamabad by PHF President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani and Tech Valley Pakistan Founder and CEO Umar Farooq in the presence of Google representatives.
Under the three-year agreement, Tech Valley Pakistan has been designated as the PHF’s official digital transformation partner.
The partnership will focus on improving digital communication and record-keeping systems between the PHF, regional associations and selection committees. The initiative aims to transfer records of past matches, complete player profiles and administrative documents to a centralised digital system.
The agreement also proposes the establishment of a Digital Player Performance and Talent Database to track players from grassroots and club hockey through to the national team. The database is expected to maintain records related to player performance, medical history and fitness.
The partners also plan to provide coaching staff with artificial intelligence and advanced analytical tools to analyse match footage, assess player abilities and develop strategies against opposing teams.
The MoU includes training and certification programmes for PHF administrators, coaches and sports managers. Regional hockey academies will also receive training in the use of digital tools for player registration and preparation of match reports.
Tech Valley will provide technical consultancy, project coordination and project leads for data migration and implementation of the digital transformation programme.
Another key objective is to enhance fan engagement through digital platforms by providing timely match results, archives of previous games and live-streaming services.
These services will be implemented after the initial phase of the project begins.
The PHF clarified that the MoU does not create any financial obligation by itself. Separate agreements will be signed later for expenses related to licences, software purchases and other services.
