ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s national airline has resumed direct flights to London after a gap of six years, marking a significant development in its international operations.

According to reports, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-785 is scheduled to depart from Islamabad to London’s Heathrow Airport at 1pm. Another direct flight from Lahore to Heathrow will operate on March 30.

PIA’s flight operations to Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States had been suspended during the previous PTI government following a controversial statement by the then aviation minister.

The restoration of direct flights is expected to ease travel for passengers and improve the airline’s international connectivity.
