PM Announces Revival of Gas Connections for Domestic Consumers

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today unveiled a new initiative aimed at restoring Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) connections to domestic consumers nationwide.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the Prime Minister highlighted that this long-awaited measure would provide relief to a large number of Pakistani households facing gas shortages.

The Prime Minister noted that the revival of gas connections aligns with the public welfare policies that were originally introduced under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif in 2013. He emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives for the betterment of the country and congratulated the coalition government parties including PPP, MQM, BAP, and others for their collective efforts in bringing this project to fruition.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism for Pakistan’s future, offering his prayers for the nation’s progress and prosperity. He urged the public and government officials to work with dedication and commitment in order to achieve sustainable growth.

Earlier, Minister for Energy Ali Pervaiz Malik also shared encouraging news regarding the performance of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), revealing that the company had successfully reduced its line losses to 4.93 percent while posting a profit of 29 billion rupees in the previous year.

This announcement signals a positive shift in Pakistan’s energy landscape and represents a significant step towards addressing the ongoing energy crisis in the country.
