ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that all Pakistani embassies in Gulf countries remain fully operational and readily accessible at all times to provide comprehensive assistance to Pakistani citizens living abroad.
He issued these directives while chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad focused on the ongoing evacuation of Pakistani nationals from Iran, as well as the facilitation and welfare of Pakistanis residing across Gulf countries.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed sincere gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan for its valuable assistance in ensuring the safe evacuation of Pakistani citizens from Iran, describing the support as a reflection of the strong and brotherly ties between the two nations.
Officials briefed the Prime Minister on the current status of evacuation operations, confirming that Pakistani nationals are returning home safely and that the Pakistani Embassy in Azerbaijan remains fully active in coordinating these efforts.
The briefing also highlighted the ongoing measures taken by Pakistani embassies across Gulf countries to assist citizens, including provision of consular support and emergency services, while emphasizing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the entire situation under the direct guidance of the Prime Minister.
