ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of incidents where overseas workers were unnecessarily delayed from traveling abroad.
He has approved the formation of a 14-member committee, headed by the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis.
According to a notification, the committee includes the Federal Minister for IT, the Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis, as well as the Secretary of IT and the Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis.
The chairman of the Pakistan Digital Authority has also been included as a member of the committee. Representatives from NADRA, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior have been included as committee members. The Terms of Reference (TORs) for the committee have already been finalized.
As per the TORs, the committee will provide recommendations for the online issuance of the Protector of Immigrants stamp. The committee will also suggest measures for the online renewal of the Protector Stamp and will offer recommendations on improving immigration clearance processes. The committee has been tasked with submitting a comprehensive report to the Prime Minister within three weeks.
