ISLAMABAD: Emphasizing the values of harmony, inclusivity, and national unity, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday extended warm Diwali greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and across the globe.

He reaffirmed his government’s firm commitment to ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all communities, regardless of their faith.

In his message on the occasion of Diwali being celebrated today, the prime minister said that the “festival of lights” represents the triumph of light over darkness and hope over despair.

“As we celebrate Diwali, let us collectively look toward a future filled with positivity and unity. As Pakistanis, we take pride in the diversity of our society, which strengthens our national fabric and enriches our shared culture,” he remarked.

Calling the diversity of faiths a genuine source of national strength, Prime Minister Shehbaz lauded the valuable contributions of the Hindu community to Pakistan’s social, economic, and political spheres, noting that their role continues to bolster the country’s development.

He expressed his pleasure at seeing members of the Hindu and other minority communities working alongside their Muslim compatriots for the nation’s progress.

The prime minister reiterated the government’s resolve to uphold the vision of the Founder of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who envisioned a Pakistan where all communities would enjoy equality and freedom, irrespective of religion, race, or caste.–APP
