The central and provincial leadership of PTI have agreed on the name of Barrister Khalid Khurshid for the post of Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan also approved his nomination.
PTI chief organizer Saifullah Khan Niazi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed governance in Gilgit-Baltistan. Barrister Khalid Khurshid Advocate has been nominated for Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister with the formal approval of the Prime Minister.
Khalid Khurshid has been elected to the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly after defeating the PPP candidate from Astorun district. There was a contest between Khalid Khurshid and Fatehullah Khan for the post of Chief Minister. Fatehullah Khan had won against PPP’s Jamil Ahmed in the recount from GB2.
Voting for the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly will take place on Saturday. The PTI currently has 23 seats in the 33-member House.

Barrister Khalid Khurshid was born in Ratto area of Astor district. He received his early education in his hometown of Ritu and Gilgit while his higher education was in the United Kingdom. Khalid Khurshid belongs to an educated and large political family. Stay tuned.
Barrister Khalid Khurshid stepped into practical politics 15 years ago and in the past continued to participate in elections as an independent. Inspired by the ideology and thinking of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he joined the PTI in 2018 and was also the President of Astor Division. With a clear majority in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, there is a national possibility that Barrister Khalid Khurshid will easily be elected Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister.
