ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday ordered officials concerned to launch an awareness campaign to help generate funds to provide relief goods to the war affected people of Gaza and Lebanon.
The prime minister issued the direction while chainring a meeting held to review dispatch of relief goods to Gaza and Lebanon. He also issued direction to send two planeload of goods to the people of the displaced people of Gaza and Lebanon.
The prime minister said that people including overseas Pakistanis should support the government in helping Palestinian and Lebanese brothers and sisters by depositing donations in the bank account number: IBAN:PK11SBPD000000111111429.
Officials from different departments including the National Disaster Management Authority informed the meeting Pakistan had already sent consignments of tents, clothes, blankets, medicines and food items to people affected by Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.
Due to the Israeli attacks and blockades, there are difficulties in delivering aid supplies to the affected areas in Palestine and Lebanon.
The meeting was informed that the NGOs who want to send relief goods for the victims of Gaza and Lebanon will be facilitated by the government.
It may be mentioned here that since October last year, Israel has killed over 42,000 people including women and children in Gaza. Moreover, air strikes by the Zionist state has turned the whole Gaza strip into rubble. All its population has been displaced and forced to live under the open sky.
Of late, Israel has started attacking Lebanon where millions of people have also been displaced.
