PM Shehbaz Holds High-Level Talks with Chinese President Xi

People of Pakistan hold their friendship with China close to their hearts, says prime minister.

BEIJING: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday for wide-ranging talks on regional dynamics and bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, underscoring the strategic importance of the engagement.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Sharif lauded President Xi’s leadership, describing Pakistan and China as “iron brothers” who have stood shoulder to shoulder through every challenge.

He highlighted the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as landmark achievements reflecting President Xi’s vision.

“The people of Pakistan hold their friendship with China close to their hearts,” Prime Minister Sharif said, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening its ties with Beijing.

Sources confirmed that Prime Minister Sharif is also scheduled to hold meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon during his official visit, signaling Pakistan’s active diplomatic outreach in the region.
