ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to take the opposition and political leadership into confidence regarding the ongoing national and international developments.
According to sources, the Prime Minister will brief the leaders of the opposition parties and parliamentary leaders from both houses of Parliament on Tuesday. He has invited opposition leaders to the Prime Minister’s House for the briefing.
The briefing will focus on Pakistan’s foreign policy, particularly in light of the recent attacks on Iran in the Middle East. Additionally, a discussion will be held on the ongoing military operation against the Afghan Taliban regime along Pakistan’s western border.
The briefing is scheduled for 11 AM today with the opposition leaders being invited to attend. However, opposition leaders have not yet decided whether they will participate in the briefing at the Prime Minister’s House. During a meeting with the government delegation, opposition leaders requested more time for internal consultations.
The opposition has insisted that the briefing be held in Parliament, in an in-camera session, so that all members can be briefed collectively and with full transparency.
