NEW YORK: President Joe Biden hosted a reception for heads of state and government on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the reception, the US president briefly met Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues.
President Biden and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also resolved to enhance bilateral relations in different sectors. They expressed satisfaction over the trajectory of the ties in different fields.
Mr Sharif in a post on the social networking platform of X stated, “Pakistan and United States have reaffirmed their common desire to enhance cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, technology and climate action.”
The prime minister said that his brief meeting with President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden was most warm and cordial.
