ISLAMABAD: An official of the Islamabad police was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Saturday morning.
According to the police, the victim was identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ali Akbar.
According to reports, the incident took place near CDA Chowk in the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi Police Station. The assailants opened fire on ASI Ali Akbar and fled the scene.
Police stated that after the incident the critically injured ASI was being shifted to hospital when he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The police have launched an investigation to trace and arrest the culprits
