Polo player from Chitral gets national award

Shahzad Ahmed has been a proud member of the Chitral team participating in the prestigious Shandur Polo Festival since 2006.

PESHAWAR: Naib Subedar Shahzad Ahmed of Chitral Scouts achieved the distinction of becoming the first player from the Frontier Corps North polo team to earn the coveted Pakistan colours.

His remarkable journey has been marked by outstanding achievements that have brought pride to the nation. Shahzad Ahmed represented the Pakistan National Polo Team during the World Polo Qualifying Round held in South Africa in 2022. His contributions were instrumental in securing victory against arch-rivals India in both matches, demonstrating not only his exceptional skills but also his unwavering commitment to the sport.

Shahzad Ahmed has been a proud member of the Chitral team participating in the prestigious Shandur Polo Festival since 2006. Impressively, the Chitral team has lifted the Shandur polo festival trophy for an impressive 16 consecutive years.

In recognition of his meritorious contributions to the world of polo in Chitral, Shahzad Ahmed was honoured and presented with a well-deserved award by Inspector General Frontier Corps North, Major General Noor Wali Khan.
