KARACHI: PPP held protest rallies in different cities of Sindh against the construction of six canals from the Sindh River, saying this will affect supply of water to Sindh.
The workers snd supporters of the PPP protested in small and big cities including Larkana, Badin, Nawabshah, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Kandhkot, Badin, Tharparkar and Jamshoro against the extraction of canals from the Sindh River.
The district leadership and members of the assembly also participated in the protests held by the PPP.
On the other hand, the protest of nationalist organizations against the extraction of canals is also going on and in this regard the people’s movement also protested in Naushahro Feroze.
On the occasion of the protest, the protesters said that the plan to dig canals from the Sindh River was a conspiracy to make the province barren.
The PPP has also taken up the issue with the federal government and asked it to stop the plan.
