MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has formally announced the nomination of Faisal Rathore as its candidate for the position of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to details, Rathore will contest the premiership on behalf of the PPP as the party prepares to assert its political strength in the region.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, senior party leader and former National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that the PPP has always taken major political decisions through internal consultation and consensus.
He confirmed that the party has decided to proceed with the submission of a no-confidence motion, expressing confidence that the Pakistan Peoples Party is poised to form the next government in Azad Kashmir.
Ashraf emphasised that AJK holds a special place for the PPP, and the party is determined to introduce measures aimed at providing greater relief and opportunities for the people of the region.
Faisal Rathore, who serves as the General Secretary of PPP AJK, is regarded as an influential figure within the party’s regional leadership.
