ISLAMABAD: The nation will observe Pakistan Day on March 23 with national ceremonies, prayers, and media programs highlighting the country’s history and unity.
The day commemorates the Lahore Resolution, passed in 1940, which set the foundation for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. The occasion also reflects the nation’s commitment to the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day will begin with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital, while provincial capitals will mark the occasion with 21-gun salutes.
Special prayers will be held in mosques after Fajr for the country’s progress, peace, and prosperity.
State-run media, including Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television, will broadcast special programs to highlight the importance of Pakistan Day and pay tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement.
Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations has released a patriotic national song titled “Meri Mitti Meri Jaan, Pakistan Zindabad,” carrying a message of unity and love for the country.
