ISLAMABAD: In the wake of heightened tensions with India following the Pahalgam attack, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar were also present.

The meeting involved a detailed discussion on the current security situation, India’s provocative statements, and potential aggression. The top leadership expressed deep concern over India’s hostile stance, stating that such behavior poses a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

According to a statement issued by Aiwan-e-Sadr, the Pakistani leadership made it clear that Pakistan will never compromise on its territorial integrity and sovereignty and will respond to any aggression with full force. The meeting also condemned baseless allegations leveled by India without any investigation and expressed regret over such an irresponsible approach. The two leaders emphasized that Pakistan had itself been a victim of terrorism for over two decades, having suffered immense human and economic losses.
The statement urged the international community to take serious notice of India’s involvement in funding and training militants for terrorist activities. The president praised the government’s responsible handling of the situation and reiterated that Pakistan will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, national interests, and security at all costs.
