ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a significant meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, during which they held in-depth discussions on the prevailing political, economic, and security landscape of the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed the President on the government’s key decisions, economic reforms, and public welfare initiatives aimed at ensuring economic stability and sustainable development.
According to an official statement issued by the Presidency, the meeting was also attended by senior cabinet members including Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Mohsin Naqvi, as well as Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah.
The participants reviewed the national security environment, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, and the government’s efforts to enhance economic resilience. A detailed exchange of views took place on measures to ensure peace, law and order, and public safety across the country.
President Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed their joint commitment to national development, democratic consolidation, institutional harmony, and public welfare. They emphasized that the complete eradication of terrorism and the restoration of lasting peace remain top national priorities, and underscored that all state institutions are united and fully determined in this mission.
