President summons joint session of parliament

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned a joint session of National Assembly and Senate on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for today (Friday).

In the meeting to be chaired by Speaker the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, the government will present a number of pending bills for legislation.

According to a spokesperson for the National Assembly, the joint session of parliament will start at 10am for which special security arrangements have been made. The entry of visitors has been banned for the day.

Due to the joint session, the Senate meeting has also been rescheduled and now it will meet at 2:30pm instead of 10:30am.
