Presidents Xi, Putin condemn Israeli attack on Iran in phone call

MOSCOW: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation in which they strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on Iran.

According to a spokesperson from the Russian presidential office, both leaders emphasized the need for a diplomatic resolution to ease tensions in the region. The Kremlin also confirmed that President Putin is expected to visit China soon.

President Xi urged countries with influence over Israel to take concrete steps to de-escalate the situation.

He further stressed that Israel should implement an immediate ceasefire and that the Iranian nuclear issue must be resolved through dialogue and negotiations.
