LONDON: Prince Andrew Mountbatten, the younger brother of King Charles III, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He is accused of providing confidential government documents to notorious American criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
According to news agencies, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken into custody by Thames Valley Police on Thursday for questioning. The police had previously announced this month that they were investigating allegations that Andrew, in his role as a commercial envoy, supplied government documents to Epstein.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied any illegal involvement with Epstein in the past and expressed regret over their friendship. However, he has refrained from commenting on the recent release of documents by the US government.
