Privatization Progress, OIC Women’s Conference Preparations Reviewed

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Privatization Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, was convened to assess the progress of the privatization process for state-owned enterprises.

According to a spokesperson, the committee engaged in a detailed discussion on ensuring a transparent, competitive and efficient privatization process.

Dar stressed the importance of conducting fair market valuations, which should account for both the existing assets as well as the future potential of these entities. The spokesperson noted that the primary objective of the privatization initiative was to stimulate private sector investment and respond effectively to evolving market dynamics.

The meeting was attended by a range of ministers, special assistants, and senior government officials.

Additionally, Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar took the opportunity to review the ongoing preparations for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2026.
