Protest against balsphemous caricatures turn violent in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Businessmen and activists of religious parties have protested against the blasphemous caricatures on Friday which is celeberated as Eid Milad-un-Nabi SAW in Islamabad. The demonstrators tried to march toward the French embassy, but police perssonels have disrupted the demonstrators by doing heavy shelling.

Police have blocked te road to French Embassy in Islamabad by putting containers near Serena Chowk, however, demonstrators tried to remove te container, but police stop them to do so.

Later on, to disrupt the protesters the police personnels did shelling to force them to approach Aabpara chowk.

The protesters also hurled stones at the police, after which clashes between the police and the protesters continued for several hours.

A journalist of a private TV channel has also injured during the coverage of the clashes, while a DSNG van have damaged too.

Furthermore, the violent protesters have burnt fire to the jungle in front of Serena Hotel.
